AIUCBEF Holds Successful State-Level Grievance Redressal Meeting and General Meeting in Chhattisgarh

The All India UCO Bank Employees’ Federation (AIUCBEF) successfully conducted a long-pending State-Level Grievance Redressal Meeting for Chhattisgarh at the Raipur Zonal Office on 1st August 2026. The meeting addressed accumulated employee grievances and was followed by a well-attended General Meeting of members on 2nd August 2026. The events reflect the Federation’s persistent efforts in maintaining healthy industrial relations and strengthening the organisation in the state.
Key outcomes and discussions:
– The meeting was chaired by Zonal Head Ms. Veena Kumari and attended by key management and union representatives from both the State Unit and the Federation.
– Major agenda items included the Seniority List of CSAs, request transfers, recruitment of Armed Guards for high-risk branches, notification for various posts, cash remittance timings, supply of note sorting machines, basic amenities, ladies’ toilets in branches, and staff loans.
– The management provided positive assurances on most issues, including preparing the seniority list, effecting transfers, pursuing armed guard recruitment, and improving branch facilities.
– A General Meeting the next day saw around 80 comrades, many travelling long distances, participate enthusiastically. Leaders addressed challenges facing the banking industry and urged unity under AIBEA.
– The visit concluded on a highly positive and cordial note, strengthening the State Unit’s confidence.

Sub: STATE-LEVEL GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL MEETING HELD AT RAIPUR ZONAL OFFICE FOR CHHATTISGARH & GENERAL MEETING OF MEMBERS
Dear Comrades,
It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that the State-Level Grievance Redressal Meeting for Chhattisgarh was successfully held at Raipur Zonal Office on 1st August 2026, commencing at 11:00 A.M.
The meeting had been long overdue, and the Federation, along with our State Unit, had been continuously pursuing the management for its early convening. Employees’ grievances had accumulated to an unacceptable level, making it imperative to hold the meeting in the interest of maintaining healthy industrial relations and
organisational harmony. Our persistent efforts ultimately yielded positive results, leading to the convening of this important meeting.
State-Level Grievance Redressal Meeting – 1st August 2026
The meeting was chaired by Ms. Veena Kumari, Zonal Head, in the presence of Shri Amal Mandare, Deputy Zonal Head; Shri Pritish Panda, Senior Manager (HR); and Ms. Nilima, HR Officer.

Opening Remarks
Welcoming the Union leadership, Ms. Veena Kumari presented an overview of the achievements of Raipur Zone. She informed that the Zone had exceeded all its business targets and had achieved a total business of approximately ₹13,000 crore, recording remarkable growth in the MSME and Retail segments. While appreciating the efforts of all employees, she appealed for continued cooperation in further strengthening the Zone’s business.
Responding to her address, Com. Partha Chanda, General Secretary, AIUCBEF, reiterated the Federation’s unwavering commitment towards the growth of the Bank. He highlighted that AIUCBEF is perhaps the only organisation which consistently educates its members on the Bank’s products, motivates them to mobilise CASA deposits, improve retail business, and contribute positively towards the Bank’s development.
He further informed the Zonal Head that a General Meeting of members had been convened the following day at Raipur, where comrades from distant branches would participate. During the meeting, they would be encouraged to voluntarily “walk the extra mile” for the Bank despite acute staff shortages and increasing workload.
He also informed the management that after every State-Level GR Meeting, the Federation issues a circular to all members and employees, appealing to them to voluntarily contribute their best towards the progress of our beloved organisation.
The management appreciated this constructive approach and acknowledged the positive role being played by the Federation.
Issues Discussed and Management’s Response
The meeting thereafter proceeded to discuss the agenda items one by one.
1. Seniority List of CSAs
The management assured that the updated seniority list would be prepared and shared with the Union shortly.
2. Request Transfers of SCSA (Cash), Special CSA and CSA
The management assured that request transfers would be effected as and when suitable replacements are received from Head Office.
3. Relieving of Newly Selected SCSA (Cash)
The process has already commenced and is expected to be completed shortly.
4. Recruitment of Armed Guards
The Union pointed out that the Zone has 13 High-Risk Branches, and considering the Naxalite-affected areas within the State, recruitment of Armed Guards is essential. The Zonal Head assured that the matter would be pursued seriously with Head Office.
5. Notification for SCSA (Cash), Special CSA & Daftary
The management assured that a notification would be issued by the end of August 2026.
6. Cash Remittance Timings and Operational Issues
The issue was discussed in detail. The management assured that all branches would be advised to strictly adhere to the prescribed cash remittance guidelines.
7. Supply of Note Sorting Machines
The management assured that branches yet to receive note sorting machines would be advised to procure them by raising the necessary electronic purchase requisitions.
8. Basic Amenities in Branches
Issues relating to drinking water facilities, chairs, air conditioners and other basic amenities were discussed. The management assured immediate action upon receipt of the names of the concerned branches.
9. Separate Ladies’ Toilets
The Union highlighted that branches such as BIT Durg and Pallari Kodwa do not have separate ladies’ toilet facilities. The management assured immediate corrective measures.
10. Supply of New Currency Notes and Coins
The management informed that the Zonal Office has already communicated with the Currency Chest at Bhilai and adequate supplies would be arranged for branches to improve customer service.
11. Staff Loans
The management informed that staff loan proposals are presently being processed promptly and no significant pendency exists.
12. Relieving of Inter-State Transfers
The Union requested immediate relieving of all approved inter-state transfer cases. The management informed that six employees were relieved during the previous year and one employee in March 2026. Remaining approved cases would be considered progressively.
Concluding Observations
While concluding the meeting, Ms. Veena Kumari expressed her appreciation for the constructive discussions and valuable suggestions placed by the Union. She also advised all employees to meticulously follow laid-down procedures, complete all compliance requirements in time, and remain careful in matters relating to attendance and operational compliance to safeguard themselves.
The Federation also advised all members to strictly adhere to the Bank’s rules, procedures and compliance requirements while discharging their duties.
The meeting, held after a considerable gap, concluded in an extremely cordial, constructive and positive atmosphere. It has undoubtedly strengthened the confidence of our State Unit and further reinforced healthy industrial relations in the Zone.
GENERAL MEETING OF MEMBERS – CHHATTISGARH – 2nd August 2026
A General Meeting of members from across Chhattisgarh was organised at Raipur in continuation of the State-Level GR Meeting.
Around 80 comrades from different parts of the State attended the meeting. Many travelled nearly 400 kilometres from remote branches of North and South Chhattisgarh to participate, reflecting their commitment towards the organisation.
The meeting commenced at 11:00 A.M. under the joint chairmanship of Com. Ashok Nagrale (Chairman) and Com. D. Naresh (President), UCBEU (Chhattisgarh).
Address by Com. Ashok Nagrale
In his inaugural address, Com. Ashok Nagrale called upon members to remain closely associated with the organisation, continuously learn the principles of trade unionism and strengthen the movement for the future.
Address by Com. Sirish Nalgundwar
Com. Sirish briefed the gathering on the proceedings of the Grievance Redressal Meeting, the issues raised by the Union and the positive assurances received from the management. He urged the younger generation of employees to become more actively associated with the organisation.
Address by Com. Ram Avtar Sharma
Com. Ram Avtar Sharma elaborated on the role of AIBEA in safeguarding the banking industry and protecting employees’ interests. He emphasised that the security and dignity enjoyed by bank employees today are the result of decades of struggle and sacrifices made by AIBEA and its leadership.
Experience Sharing by Young Leaders
Com. Romanjeet Sahoo and Com. Sankar Bande shared their experiences from the Federation’s Youth & Women Convention at Jalandhar and the Leadership Training Programme at Nagpur. They encouraged young comrades to participate actively in organisational activities and strengthen the movement.
Address by Com. Partha Chanda
Delivering the keynote address, Com. Partha Chanda spoke extensively on the major challenges confronting the banking industry, including privatisation, mergers, inadequate recruitment and increasing contractualisation.
He cautioned the younger generation to remain united under the banner of AIBEA and prepare themselves to defend their rights and the future of public sector banking.
Tracing the glorious history of AIBEA, he highlighted the historic struggles that protected public sector banks from privatisation and secured numerous service conditions and benefits for employees.
He also explained the Federation’s recent achievements, particularly in securing proper mapping and distribution of IBPS recruits, timely relieving of transfer cases, filling up functional vacancies and various staff welfare measures through sustained negotiations with the management.
He expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the Chhattisgarh State Unit under the leadership of Com. Sirish Nalgundwar and his team and urged all members to further strengthen the organisation to effectively meet future challenges.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Com. D. Naresh, President.
Conclusion
The Chhattisgarh visit proved to be highly successful and encouraging. The positive outcome of the Grievance Redressal Meeting, coupled with the enthusiastic participation of members in the General Meeting, reflects the growing strength and confidence of our organisation in the State.
It is particularly heartening to witness the emergence of a committed and capable younger generation of comrades who are being groomed to shoulder the responsibilities of leadership in the years ahead.
Let us continue to strengthen our organisation, safeguard the interests of employees and work collectively for the growth and progress of our beloved Bank.
