We invite reference to our previous communication (AIUCBEF/ MD & CEO /112/ 2023-2026 dated 03.06.2025) on the captioned subject. We sincerely appreciate our bank’s initiative as in March, 2023, conveyance allowance was introduced, which provides ₹600 for clerical staff and ₹300 for sub- staff on a declaration basis. This was a step welcomed by all members of award staff. Since last few years, the scenario has changed significantly as the number of award staff posted at branches at distant places far away from their residences have increased a lot. Those staff generally are compelled to commute by their own vehicles on a daily basis. Some are waiting to purchase their own vehicles provided some subsidy is considered by the bank on fuel which is becoming costlier day by day. The existing conveyance allowance, in reality is insufficient to cover the escalating costs of fuel.
The increased financial burden of daily commuters, particularly for award staff members utilizing petrol for their vehicles have already become a big cause of
worry. Implementing a Petrol Reimbursement Scheme would not only alleviate the financial strain but shall also prove as a significant motivating factor.
For your kind perusal we have collected the industry wise data from various banks regarding reimbursement of Petrol Allowance and placing before you

It goes without saying that introduction of petrol allowance shall definitely contribute towards improved morale and productivity among our dedicated award staff members. It would demonstrate our bank’s continued commitment to the well-being of its award staff employees.
It will not be out of place to mention here that there has been a periodical upward revision in the perquisites of Officers community in our Bank. Though we are not at all averse to the benefits and their timely revisions, but our award staff who are the front-line workers of our institution also deserve fair if not equal treatment.
In the light of other banks paying to their award staff employees on account of Petrol reimbursement, we once again urge upon you to introduce the scheme for
those employees owning vehicles and lumpsum amount for those who do not have their own vehicles.
We are confident that under your able leadership, our bank will look into this serious matter with utmost empathy and foresight.
We look forward to a positive response.
