The meeting started at the scheduled time.
Starting after brief introduction, the meeting proceeded with the issues as listed in our letter
addressed on the subject.
As Coimbatore management were engaged in another VC, they joined little late and
discussions started with CHENNAI ZONE issues.
There were three old issues in this zone which were taken up by Federation at the Apex GR
meeting in HO on which positive decisions were communicated but the earlier dispensationin Chennai did not implement the matters. Of course, the present ZH, Sri Ajit after taking a short
brief upon the 3 issues stated that these will be disposed of very shortly with a positive
approach.
There after the issues taken up for discussion were majorly under the following heads:
1 . Notifications of Functional Allowance bearing posts in clerical cadre. Agreed to be
notified by December, 2026.
2 . Release of Annual and Stagnation increments for few staff members.
3 . Pending Compassionate ground appointments.
4 . Release of Inter state transferees for whom orders have reached.
5 . Release of selected Functional allowance holders,
6 . Problems of late Sitting/ Overtime for working beyond prescribed time limit
7 . Minimum wages to Daily Wagers.
8 . Branch Renovation, Shifting , AC for Cash van etc.
9 . Need for manpower.. To take up with HO in required seriousness.
All the issues thus raised were given a patient listening and provided with open interaction
which led both towards redressals and positive assurances from management side.
After completion of CHENNAI issues and in presence of the management of Coimbatore, we
took up their issues.
The experience with the Coimbatore management in the earlier State GR meeting was not all
the way cordial raising discontent within us and so the matter had to be escalated to the
highest authorities. But anyway, keeping all the past irritations afar, our leadership dealt the
issues of Coimbatore zone in a very matured manner and was reciprocated in a similar tone.
Issues were almost of similar nature as of Chennai.
1.Problems pertaining to Jewel loans were of much importance.
2 . Late sitting on almost regular and / or frequent manner jeopardizing the work life balance.
Matter agreed by both parties to discuss in a positive way to reach to a solution for those
branches.
3 . Other matters of importance like Grant of leave, LFC, release of increments etc.
The discussions were positive and responses on all issues were indicative of redressals.
In sum and substance this GR Meeting at Chennai appeared to be meaningful with on the
table settlements and wherever required to be looked into with a result – oriented approach.
With the concluding remarks of hope and satisfaction by the DGM & ZH of Chennai and
responded with a similar gesture from our part, the meeting came to an end.
